Learn to sew, step by step

Puntada is a two-year sewing course for iPhone and iPad. It takes you from threading your first needle to sewing your own clothes, with one lesson a week and a short practice session every day.

Frequently asked questions

What is free and what is paid?

The first two modules of the course (eight lessons, about two months) are free, with the daily plan, review, animated stitches and the measurement, needle and conversion tools. The full course unlocks with a single payment. It is not a subscription: you pay once and it is yours for good, on all your devices with the same Apple Account, and it can be shared with Family Sharing.

I bought the course and it does not show as unlocked

Open Settings (the gear on the Today tab) and tap Restore Purchases. Make sure you are using the same Apple Account you bought it with.

Can I ask for a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple. You can request one from Settings › Request a Refund in the app, or at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Can I go faster than one lesson a week?

Yes. In Settings › Course pace you can choose two lessons a week or no limit. And from the Course tab you can open any lesson whenever you like.

Do I need a sewing machine?

Not to start: the first term is by hand. The machine arrives in the second, with a lesson on what to look for if you are buying one.

What materials do I need?

To start, a basic sewing kit: needles, thread, pins, fabric scissors, a tape measure and a few cotton scraps. Each lesson says at the start what it needs.
